Apothederm Skin Care Review

September 19, 2013

I’ve been using two products from a skincare line called Apothederm.   When asked if I’d be interested in doing a review I jumped at the chance because I’m very interested in companies that have a lot of scientific research behind their products.  They use SmartPeptides in their products to address many different concerns that we have with our skin and it’s care.  Their products address Anti-Aging, Brightening & Acne and Body.  In addition they are all fragrance free and paraben free.  You can visit their website for information on all of their products.

I have been using the Brightening Cleanser and Hydrating Eye Cream.  I’ve actually completely used up all of the cleanser.  Does that mean I like it?  Actually, I love it.  I’ve had combination skin for the past year now along with occasional rosacea flareups.  When I want a reliable cleanser that’s going to really clean my skin and help to clear up any breakouts I immediately grab for this one.  I often use it with my Clarisonic and the delicate brush.  It is a clear gel like liquid that foams up nicely.

Key ingredients in the Brightening Cleanser and the actions of each ingredient include :
Malic Acid Alpha Hydroxy Acid:  Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
Salicylic Acid:  This anti-inflammatory exfoliates and helps to reduce pore size.
Glycerin:  A humectant that draws moisture to your skin.
Cucumber Fruit Extract:  This moistures, binds and soothes.
Sage Leaf Extract:  This extract provides anti-inflammatory benefits.
Tocopherol Vitamin E:  This is an age-fighting antioxidant vitamin that protect the skin from free radical damage.
Vitamin C:  Also an age-fighting antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage.

The Hydrating Eye Cream was the second product that I chose.  I have very dry skin around the eye area need to hydrate often.  This product is a soft white cream that’s designed to moisturize the eye area and minimize puffiness and dark circles.  I applied this product both morning and evening to clean dry skin.  It applied beautifully and didn’t cause any creasing of the makeup that I applied over it.  It definitely provided a lot of moisture to the area.  I don’t really experience dark circles or puffiness so I cannot comment on it’s effectiveness in that area.
Key ingredients in the Hydrating Cleanser and the actions of each ingredient include:
Hexapeptide-21:  This SmartPeptide controls visible photoaging while calming and soothing the delicate eye area. It works to stimulate the skin’s own natural repair and regeneration system. Tests have shown that this peptide controls visible signs of photoaging while calming and soothing the skin.
Shea Butter:  This corrects dry, dehydrated skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.
Glycerin:  This humectant relieves dehydration by drawing essential moisture into the skin.
Squalane:  This emollient oil replenishes and protects the natural moisture balance of the skin.

The verdict:

These are excellent products!!  I would definitely purchase these Apothederm products again.  I will try additional products in the future and will let you know what I think of them when I do.

Be sure to let me know if there’s anything you’ve been loving lately too.💖

Today I’m including:
•a body makeup product that helps cover, disguise and blur my dark spots from sun damage from too many years spent in the sun.

•an at-home FDA cleared fractional laser to improve the appearance of my skin and even help get rid of some of those dark spots. I’m using it nightly.

•a beautiful pink lipstick that is like happiness in a tube

•an excellent facial spf product that protects my skin when I’m outdoors. I purchased mine when I was in France.

•some tasty gummy supplements I’ve been using including a multivitamin and a gummy prebiotic and probiotic combo to keep my gut happy

•and a balm that works great for keeping my skin hydrated that I like to dab under my eyes and on the lines above my lips because hydration helps make fine lines look better/less obvious when I look in the mirror.

I’ve been using the Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream, and I love how hydrated, smooth and refreshed my skin looks and feels. Our skin changes as we age and keeping it moisturized with effective ingredients is one of the simplest ways I keep mine looking firmer, smoother, healthier and more radiant at 61 years old.

The @olay Micro-Sculpting Cream has triple collagen peptides, niacinamide and pro-vitamin B5 to support younger looking skin.

If you’re looking for dramatic results without taking drastic measures, then this is a moisturizer you will be impressed with. It layers beautifully under makeup and delivers lasting hydration.

Comment your skincare goals and save this reel for your next beauty shopping trip.♥️
