I was at Walgreens a few days ago and saw a few displays filled with new products from Almay. I’ve been wanting to try out a drugstore CC cream and thought this looked like a good choice.
CC creams are Color Correctors. They are similar to the BB creams that have been around for a while now and most of us have tried. This is supposed to be an all in one product formulated to improve and correct the skin’s appearance while providing broad spectrum sun protection.
This CC cream is available in three different shades. The shades are all rather light so they won’t really work with darker skin tones. I chose the darkest one which is Medium. It is a perfect match for my NW25 skin tone. However, they are “smart shades” and are supposed to adapt to your individual skin tone. I didn’t really notice any changes in the color of this product over time when applied to my skin.
Final Verdict:
I like this product. I LOVE that it has an SPF of 35 with some good ingredients. I will probably use this when I know I’m going to be participating in outdoor activities and want minimal coverage on my skin rather than being bare faced. Another way I will use it will be as a primer under my mineral foundations. The price is great and it can almost always be found on sale or used with some sort of coupon. I will purchase the Almay Smart Shade CC Cream again!

Hi Stacie! I just bought this too and I have the same opinion about it as you do. Did you get the bronzer? I haven’t yet! 🙂

I’ve tried many brands and I loved this one. I’m 52 years old and the light/medium was a perfect shade for me. I usually wear expensive makeup, but I will now try other almay products.
