I was recently contacted by a pr firm to sample and review some haircare products designed to revitalize and protect color treated hair. Because I color my hair at home, I was anxious to try products that might improve the health and appearance of my hair.
I was sent two different products from a West Hollywood, California salon called Marco Pelusi. The world renowned hair color expert created the Marco Collagen Color Guard Haircare System for colored and chemically treated hair. These collagen products are the first ever specifically formulated to prevent premature color fade.
1. The first I received is the Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard. I received a nice 8 ounce bottle with a pump dispenser. The bottle retails for $35.25.

And the verdict is:
I’ve used this product for approximately 3 weeks so far. I used it twice weekly after shampooing my hair. I probably would have preferred a different fragrance in the product. This had a strong scent. However, the scent disappeared as soon as my hair was dry. My hair was definitely frizz free and shiny after drying my hair and flat ironing. I received many compliments on the shine in my hair, including many viewers of my YouTube videos. The price for this product is comparable to better salon brands.
2. The second product that I used was the Color Smooth Gloss. I received a 2 ounce bottle. Retail price is $25.25.

And the verdict is:
I used this product after my hair was dry and straightened. I just put a very small amount in the palms of my hands and rubbed it through my hair. My hair was shiny and frizz free. It still had lots of movement and wasn’t weighed down by the product. The price for this product is comparable with other better salon brands. A very small amount is all that is needed therefore this bottle will last for several months.
