Do you recall that I’ve been taking photography lessons for the past few months? My original intention for taking lessons was that I wanted to have some quality photos from my trip to Europe. I wanted to take my camera out of auto mode and try to learn how to use the creative parts of it instead. You can see some of my first photos over on my previous post on this topic.
After having several lessons and practicing my skills for a while my teacher wanted me to learn how to properly edit my photos to make them pop a bit. He gifted me with a free subscription to Photoshop for a year. I’m really excited about this. At my latest lesson her started teaching me how to import my photos and how to tweak them a bit so colors are more vibrant, etc.
I was so excited to practice my new skills that I immediately went home, put my camera in RAW mode and snapped a few photos even though it was a cold dreary rainy day. I uploaded into Photoshop and played around for a bit. Below you can see my before and after photos from my yard. Thankfully there was some pretty contrast in the colors of the trees. However, thanks to some of my new-found skills, the edited photo is more vibrant.
Here’s another photo that I took down by the lake this past week. There are some really old boat house’s (I think that’s what they’re called) down on out local lake. I love to take photos of them. This time I shot a red and white house and edited it to remove all of the background color. I love the way these types of photos turn out.
I think I’m addicted to this whole photography hobby and now I can’t wait to take photos of my soon-to-be born grand baby!
