Last week when I was at Sephora doing an exchange I was talking to a makeup artist that I know fairly well. He was raving about the new Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation. I wasn’t looking for a new foundation, however when someone is raving, I am listening.
The foundation is available in 16 shades. The retail price is $48 for 1 fluid ounce. The foundation is supposed to give a natural yet buildable coverage.

Below is the description from the Marc Jacobs website:
Erase the past, perfect the present and protect the future with this breakthrough buildable gel. Features best-in-class gel performance with first-to-market buoyancy gel technology. This anti-aging foundation protects and hydrates skin with coconut water extracts. From natural-to-full coverage, your skin is awakened to its original translucence and clarity. See it as it was before too much sun, too many late nights, and prepare it for tomorrow as well. Best applied with The Face Iliquid foundation brush.
I was given a generous sample of this foundation which allowed me to wear it over the course of 4 days. I was matched to the color Medium Beige. I applied it with one of my favorite foundation brushes (Sonia Kashuk’s buffer brush). Please not that I did apply my moisturizer with sunscreen to my face before applying the foundation. Others have said that this foundation is heavily fragranced. I am very sensitive to fragrance yet I didn’t notice this. Is this because I had just the sample?
The verdict:
This foundation worked well for my combination skin. It lasted all day, including a 2 mile walk in the Texas heat. I will definitely be purchasing a full size bottle.

Sounds like a good fondation. I hope it will fit my oily skin..

I just got a sample of it and tried it on after I removed my makeup. I didn’t notice a fragrance either ?! Lol. Did you get the full size and notice
