Summer Beauty Tips for the Lazy Girl

July 15, 2016

Summer is a care-free time to spend pool side or on a lawn chair reclined in the sun. Let your natural beauty shine this summer and look fabulous in no time at all with your sun-kissed bod. Follow these easy summer beauty tips and spend your precious time soaking up the rays.

summer beauty tips

Always have a hair tie

Warm weather means bring on the frizz and natural body for your hair. Be ready to manage that mane and push it away from your eyes and face with a headband or hair tie. Summer is the time for adventure, you never know when you’ll need to throw your hair up at a moment’s notice.

Use two coats of nail polish

Ever notice how your toenail polish stays on longer than your fingernails’ polish? Keep your feet looking sweet even longer with two coats of toenail polish in a bright, cheerful color.

Use SPF makeup foundation

Switch to a makeup foundation brand that has a SPF rating to protect your face from the sun’s harmful rays. You may need to reapply this if you are outside for several hours. Accent the beautiful, clear, sun-kissed look of your face with a coat of mascara and clear lip balm or gloss that has a SPF rating of 30 or higher.

Wear sunscreen

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, everyone should be wearing sunscreen daily for the protection of their skin. Choose a sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. SPF should be 30 or higher and also offer water resistance. Coat all skin that will not be covered by clothing. Read the directions on the bottle about reapplication. If you are not sure, reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating.

Eliminate unwanted hair

Summer is shorts weather, which means finding time every few days to shave. Avoid spending extra time getting ready by trying out laser hair removal. This will save sensitive parts of your body like your bikini area or armpits from getting irritated with too much shaving. Laser hair removal experts explain the procedure as an effective way of targeting cells deep in the hair follicle and damaging the follicle so that hair growth stops. No more reaching for a towel to cover up embarrassing stubble or unruly hairs in private places.

Keeping skin, nails, and hair looking supple, vibrant and neat this summer is a breeze with these four summer beauty tips for the lazy girl. Look great naturally and spend time out in the sunshine instead of primping in the bathroom.

I know so many people in their 20’s and 30’s that don’t use SPF daily. They are so eager for color that they forget that they’ll live with the problems of the sun for the rest of their lives. Some are even in the medical field. It drives me crazy.
