Since we’re already at the last Sunday for the month of April, I thought I’d share 1o things I’m loving this month. These are completely random things that have made me happy or made my life easier. Before I get started though, I want to say that I have been loving this new blog series that I started here a few weeks ago. It’s been fun to write about topics that are sometimes on a more personal level. And the best part is that you all seem to be enjoying them too! If you’ve missed any, you can always go back and reread previous weeks at any time.
The eclipse – All I can say is WOW! Here in Texas, we were in the path of totality. I made it a point to buy my eclipse viewing glasses and cleared my calendar to watch. It was probably one of the most spectacular experiences of my life. When the moment of totality happened, I could hear whoops from all over town while I was sitting in my own backyard watching. It was one of the moments that brought a tear to your eye and sent chills down your spine. If you ever have the opportunity to experience it, don’t miss out!
New recipe – When my family celebrates holidays, we usually gather at my house. I enjoy hosting everyone and try to have a few surprises up my sleeve when it comes to the food I serve. My favorite meal is breakfast because it offers a chance to eat some of my favorite foods. As a vegetarian, I’ve been trying to increase my protein intake lately and this recipe does just that. It’s simple, delicious and both kid and adult approved. I found the recipe on Pinterest and have inserted it right here for you.
Beauty – As an influencer, I often work with local med spas. Skin Pharm is opening soon in my town and contacted me. I will be going in to tour their location when they open, but in the meantime they sent me a few skincare product that have been amazing for my skin. I’ve been LOVING their Crystal Clear pre-saturated pads for brightening and gently exfoliating my skin with salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid and a botanical blend. Highly recommend!
Gardening – I’ve been having the best time with both my indoor and outdoor gardens this year. My Dahlias are starting to get blooms on them and I’m just waiting for my tomatoes to change color. In the meantime I’m enjoying some of the other colorful annual flowers that we bought that already bloomed. I always do that to hold me over until my bulbs and seedlings mature.
Shoes – I’m not sure if I should be embarrassed or not, but I’ve been on a buying frenzy with so many new pairs of shoes for spring and summer. I think it’s the change of seasons that gets me and spring is my favorite fashion season. I’ve spent $10 at Target all the way up to $200+. Take a look at some of them below as they’re all great affordable options. P.S. You can see that I mostly buy neutral colored shoes.
Craftsy – I’ve told you a few times about the membership I purchased for the website called Craftsy. You can get a full one year membership right now for $2.49. and take all of the classes you want. The deal is good in the US, UK, AU and CA. I’ve been watching the gardening and photography lessons this month. Love it!!
My hair transformation – I often laugh at the fact that I waited until I was about 57 years old to start getting highlights in my hair. I had always wanted to try them, but my previous hairdresser told me that I shouldn’t do it because my hair would get thicker than it already is from the chemical reaction on the cuticle of the hair. I’m so happy that I found someone new who is helping me have fun with my hair color these days. This past week I had my highlights and color done to kick off the spring and summer seasons. And if you’ve ever met me in person, then you know I could set a few records for the thickest hair. Therefore, it took over 4 hours for my hair to be done. But I must say that I am loving it. It’s fun and different from the dark hair I’ve had my entire life.
Time with loved ones – I have 4 grandbabies who are age 4 and under. I’ve been babysitting them since they were born, but starting this month I’ve been being more intentional with taking them on more singular outings to give each one some “date time with Sweetie”. It’s been fun for them and fun for me. I have a bond with each of them that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. It reminds me of my mom’s relationship with my children.
That’s it for me! These are the top 10 things that I’ve been loving this month. Is there anything you loved this month?
