Sunday with Stacie – Volume 16

August 11, 2024

Hello, beautiful ladies, and welcome back to my Sunday with Stacie series. For this week’s post, I thought I’d share some hot topics and latest trends that have been buzz worthy this week in news and online.

First on my list is fitness and health. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is making a big splash. It’s efficient, adaptable, and beneficial, especially for women over 50 looking to incorporate more movement into their day. Remember, our bodies are wonderful machines and, just like a car, they run better with regular care and attention. I’ve been doing a lot of walking and added in a little bit of weights. What have you been doing?

Exercise is good for both physical and mental health

I try to start my day with a long walk

Next up, we have fashion. Sustainable fashion is growing in popularity, and rightfully so. Many brands are launching eco-friendly lines, promising to be kinder to our planet. Classic fashion pieces that stand the test of time are always the best choice. Investing in quality rather than quantity not only elevates our style but also contributes to a sustainable future. I’m ready to get on board with this!

Now, let’s talk about skincare. Natural and organic skincare products have been a hot topic this past week. More and more brands are moving towards clean beauty, and it’s nice to see. We need to remember to nourish our skin just as we would our bodies. Opting for products that provide us with the care we need without the harsh chemicals should be a goal for all of us. I personally have added more clean beauty products into my routine, but I know that I can do better.

Traveling is also on the mind for many in our community. Since the end of the pandemic, exploring new destinations is back in the cards for nearly everyone. I guess we were all tired of staying at home and now feel much safer to get out and explore. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a prolonged vacation, travel gives joy and new experiences. After all, creating new memories that we can cherish is what life’s about.

Finally, let’s talk about mindfulness. Yoga and meditation have been trending topics among us women over 50 lately. It’s a reminder that looking after our mental health is just as important as our physical. Taking time out of our day to breathe and center ourselves can make a world of difference. I talked about this one of my recent Instagram posts where I mentioned that walking is part of my own mental health journey.

So there you have it, a little roundup of what’s been trending this past week for us, fabulous women over 50. Remember, the world is our playground, there’s no age limit for discovery, growth, and joy! Remember to take time for the things that make your own heart sing.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post today!

I feel so grateful to pursue my passions daily.❤️ I feel so grateful to pursue my passions daily.❤️

Last week, I had the chance to attend Laura Geller Beauty’s luncheon in Dallas, where I was reminded of amazing friendships (both old and new) and a brand that empowers women of all ages to feel their best (especially the over 40 crowd).

Thank you lauragellerbeauty for the lovely gathering and to the queen herself, who is one of the most supportive and uplifting women I have the honor of calling a friend.🥰

I ordered some of our family faves on Walmart.com using Walmart’s Expess Delivery service straight to our doorstep in just a few hours. It’s incredible how times have changed from our younger days!

My husband and I both love the mild taste of Listerine® Total Care Alcohol Free Mouthwash. It makes us feel like we’re killing all of those extra germs that brushing misses.

Hubby suffers from seasonal allergies and winter is the worst for him. So he relies on ZYRTEC® allergy relief tablets to help him manage his allergy symptoms. It starts working at hour one and lasts for a full 24 hours.

We both use Motrin® for any aches, pains or fevers that seem to always sneak up unexpectedly. Fingers crossed that we both stay healthy.

And the BAND-AID® Brand Flexible Fabric Tie-Dye Bandages are for my grandkids because it never seems to fail that someone gets hurt when they visit our house. And a pretty Band-Aid always makes things feel better in a jiffy. These are great because they’re flexible and stretch while providing protection.

A walk a day keeps the doctor away! I’ve mentioned A walk a day keeps the doctor away! I’ve mentioned before that I try to walk every single day for both the physical and mental benefits I get from it.

And it definitely doesn’t hurt to look cute while doing any form of exercise. I bought a few of the air essentials sweatshirts because they’re so soft and comfortable.

Currently on sale in a bunch of colors so I’m planning to add a few more to my cart. Comment for the LINK.

This post is for the ladies 5’4” and under because This post is for the ladies 5’4” and under because we deserve to have clothes that fit our proportions perfectly without a visit to the tailor.

The beautiful wool cardigan and straight leg jeans are wardrobe staples for me. They’re from Petite Studio NYC, a brand founded by a petite woman who struggled to find clothes that fit right.

You can visit my blog for more info on the brand, these 2 pieces and their Archive Sale.

Bonus: this is a cute look for Valentine’s Day too!❤️
