Hi friends! I hope you had a great week! We’re starting a new month, so I thought today would be a good day to share the things I loved from the month of May. I just think it’s a fun way to showcase the things that made me happy from the month and it may be helpful for you to get to know me better. As always, I’m curious about you too, so leave a comment or send me an email to let me know one (or more) of your favorites from last month too.
- I went on my first vacation to the Napa, CA area last month and I absolutely adored it. I did share parts of it here on the blog and on my social media, so you’ve seen it. But it was so beautiful there and made me so happy. Everything was perfect, from the scenery to the temperature to being with my husband to explore the area together. Our next trip is in the works and I will reveal that soon when he confirms it with me.
- I read some really good books last month. I’m telling you now, that if you’re over 40, then I highly recommend you read The New Menopause. I listened to it on audible, which was good. However, I think you really need to have a physical copy of the book to be able to see the doctor’s recommendations and so that you can go back to see them again and again. I’ve also heard great things about her other book The Galveston Diet for women in the menopause phase of life. That one is next for me.
- I have had so much fun introducing my grand babies to gardening lately. The girls love the flowers as much as I do. The only problem is that they sometimes think the flowers need to be picked and played with (as I cringe, but smile).
- When I find a good product that worked well for me I like to share it. I’ve recently been using the Megelin Radio Frequency device. It’s a 4-in-1 skincare tool that works great. So far, I can see a bit of improvement in the lower half of my face where I’ve been targeting. I don’t use it on the forehead because I had Dysport (like Botox) there and it says not to use in there if you’ve had a neurotoxin treatment in the last few months. My jowls and vertical lip lines are what bother me most. I feel like the lifting that I’m getting for the lower to midface are helping to decrease the appearance of the lines a little bit. The photo below is from just one treatment. What do you think?
- I’m enjoying the relaxed summer days, even though it’s not quite summer yet. I just feel so much more relaxed when the days are longer and there’s not as much on our schedules.
- I’m still working on my style journey and developing a capsule wardrobe for summer. I watched a webinar that gave a suggestion for 10 items to pack for a trip that can be put into a carry-on bag and can create 30 different outfits. I bought a few things and found the rest in my closet. I’m going to try to use this method for my next trip to see if I can do it. Let me know if you want more details.
- I bought myself a new iPad Air with the Apple pencil Pro and then I bought a digital planner and some stickers on Etsy and have been having so much fun using this instead of a physical planner like I have done for years. I’ve always been a planner geek, but now I think I’m the ultimate geek, but I am so happy about it. Do you use planners? Have you tried using a digital planner?
- I’m loving less makeup on my skin this time of year. Last month my daughter and I went to the new Skin Pharm in Southlake. We had a tour and some lovely treatments. We were treated to some great skincare products as well. One that I chose is their Tinted Sunscreen with SPF 44. It’s all I’ve been using most days.
So there we have it, the top things that made me happy for the month of May. I hope you enjoyed and will share one of your favorite things with me too!

This sounds like such a fun post! Napa looks amazing in your pictures, and relaxing with your husband sounds like a perfect way to spend a vacation. I love that you’re introducing your granddaughters to gardening – that’s such a wonderful way to connect with them.
I’m definitely curious about the Megelin device – I’ve been wanting to try a radio frequency tool for a while now. Would love to hear more about your experience after you’ve used it for a longer period!
I’m also a huge planner geek but haven’t tried digital planning yet. I’d love to hear more details about the webinar you mentioned, especially if it helped you create a capsule wardrobe!
Thanks for sharing your favorites, and good luck with your summer style journey!
