Hi friends! I’m thinking that I’d like to start a new series here on my blog called Sundays with Stacie. So, welcome to the first edition. I’d like to use these weekly posts like a chat between friends. I may share a good book that I’m reading, a show that I’m bingeing or something that may be going on in my life. You never know what you’re going to get, so you’ll have to tune in each week to see.
Since it’s the beginning of the Spring season, I’m going to talk about a few of the things that are bringing me joy as the days get warmer and we’re able to start peeling off a few of those extra layers we’ve all been piling on.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS
The longer daylight hours make me so happy. In fact, some of my fondest memories, from childhood to adulthood are from these times. I remember as a child living on Long Island, NY. I remember my sibling and myself taking our baths, putting on our pj’s and then our parents would let us hang out on the front porch with them. Sometimes neighbors dropped by and sometimes it was just us. Oh how I’d love to go back and relive one of those nights!
I also have fond memories of spending time with my kids, friends and husband on warm spring and summer nights. Whether we were at a ball game, a golf tournament or just hanging out at the country club, it makes me smile just remembering the good times. The kids would run around the grass and the adults would grab a drink and chat about life.
GARDENING
I’m actually newer to gardening as I started my first vegetable garden in 2014. I quickly became addicted. I researched gardening for beginners, bought seedlings at the local garden center and proceeded to build a raised bed garden (with the help of my husband). There were many trials as I had critters eating my strawberries and my dog sneaking my mini tomatoes (I finally caught her red handed after a few weeks). I’ve learned a lot and still start a new garden every spring since then. Last weekend I cleaned out my raised garden bed and prepped it with organic dirt. Today I will be planting bulbs for flowers and maybe some cucumber seedlings. I enjoy growing cucumbers because I like to make homemade pickles.
This year I was treated to an indoor garden called a Click & Grow. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. It self waters for a few weeks and has lights to help the seeds grow. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I had sprouts after just a few days. I’m really excited to see what thrives and works best for me. I have lettuce (it’s finally starting to grow), red baby tomatoes, yellow baby tomatoes, basil and flowers all growing right now. I may actually transplant some of the tomatoes to outside in another week or two when it warms up just a little more.
SUMMER STYLES
I love the ease and casual feel of spring clothing styles. I’m actually a very casual dresser most of the time. I find no reason to get dolled up when I’m just going to watch my grand babies or run errands. But I do LOVE to wear cute sundresses any chance I get. I’ve already found some fantastic styles this year. A few are from Amazon and a few other online sites. I honestly rarely make it into a brick and mortar store anymore. You can see some of them here and here.
CURRENTLY BINGEING
I was a late bloomer when it came to binging shows on Netflix, Hulu and all the others. It was during the pandemic that I think I watched my first series. I think it was The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. Since then, I’ve watched more shows than I can even remember. Some of my more recent favorites were The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, Suits (I just started season 9) and my husband I are currently watching Schitt’s Creek (yes, we’re late to the game on this one). As you can see, I have a wide range of interests in the things I like to watch. Let me know if there’s something you loved that you recommend for me to watch or if you want to see another post with ALL of my favorites that I’ve watched.
UPCOMING DEALS YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS

I’ve been working on putting together some lists, collages and photos of some of the BEST of the BEST for you. These are things that I own, want to own or bought for gifts. I have ideas for everyone in the family as well as for your home and garden. I would LOVE it if you would check out my Amazon store to see these deals.
