Perfect Eyebrows

October 17, 2013

Today’s post is written by a good friend of mine who blogs over at The Glam Crush.  Please read this informative tutorial post that she put together, then go over and see her blog for yourself.  She blogs about beauty and fashion and does an amazing job!

Eyebrows really frame the face, they are more than 50% of our beauty.

No matter if they are arched, straight, thin or thick, to achieve the perfect eyebrows, you have to know that:

Early plucking

                           > will cause the eyebrows from not growing back!

Overplucking

Plucking your eyebrows to early (young age) or over plucking them for ages, will cause your eyebrows from not growing back in their natural shape.

Young girls please leave your eyebrows alone or you might regret it in a couple years!

To achieve the best looking shape for your face, you have to know that:

Whether you have naturally:

Arched

Straight

Round       >eyebrows will always look perfect if you not force them to be something they are not!

High/Low

Thick/Thin

God created the perfect eyebrows for everyone, the secret is to enhance your shape not forcing them to be different and that’s why a lot of people have weird looking brows.

You have straight eyebrows but want them to be a bit arched, if you can work it than do so but if you can’t don’t mess them up.

If you have naturally thin eyebrows, you can fill them in to make them look fuller and thicker but you don’t have to, my friend has naturally thin eyebrows, making them to thick looks not good on her.

Some faces really look good with naturally thin eyebrows.

Thick eyebrows makes you look younger, you can make them thinner but don’t overdo it, we saw a lot of eyebrow crimes on that!

If your hair grows down and wont stay up if you brush them, then please leave them alone.

I have some hairs growing down and I think it’s chic and I do not brush them up, I leave them as they are!

Forced arched eyebrows can make you look old and sometimes weird.

If you have asymmetrical eyebrows and you don’t know how to do your eyebrows, you have to work with what you have, my left eyebrow is higher than my right eyebow and there is nothing I can do about it (except surgery).

I saw eyebrows in the same height but one was thicker than the other and what you can do is cut/trim the one that’s thicker and make it as the other eyebrow.

In the beauty community they say eyebrows are sisters not twins!

Work with your eyebrows not against them, accept the shape you have because there is no other shape that will suit your face best than your natural shape!

Where should eyebrows start and end?

The right way, where your eyebrows should start and end is starting from the nostril, the attention is now on your nose bridge (pic 2) and that’s what makes your nose appear smaller.

Now hold your stick or pencil from the outside of your nose along the corners of your eye and there you will meet the brow tale, everything to much can be plucked and what’s to less you either let them grow back or if you naturally have less hair you can fill them in.

Wrong way!

Starting from the outside of your nose will bring attention to the brightness of your nose and that will make your nose appear bigger, so this ”rule” is a complete fail!

Imagine women with a bright nose, plucking their eyebrows to much will make their nose appear even bigger, look at pic 3 you see this ”wide” distance between the brows, you instinctively know that there is something wrong looking about this eyebrows!

Weird trend

And then there is this new ”trend” I have seen women doing, eyebrows that are too close.

Most of them are victims of over plucked eyebrows and most of them plucked their eyebrows too wide from one another and now they fill this gap in but way too close.

Having natural close eyebrows or filling them in to close does not look good, it will not make your nose look smaller and it’s not framing your face.

You just bring attention to the almost becoming unibrow and we don’t want that!

You automatically know, whether they are to far or to close, it is wrong and it looks wrong!

Trimming/Cutting

Be aware if you start trimming your brows your hair (in a lot of cases) will not fall in place as they were when they grow back, at least my eyebrows don’t, the inner part grows crazy, I always have to cut them.
I warn you, if you cut them for a long time, you’ll always have to do it.
If you want to trim your brows do not brush them up and cut them!
Usually women trim the inner brows and maybe even half of their eyebrows.
Not every hair grows up, some grow down some in the right/left direction, so be sure you brush in the dircetion where your hair grows and cut a little bit.
I see tutorials where women brush their brows up cut them and when the hair falls in place it looks worse then before, actually it looked way better before, so be careful!
It’s not necesarry unless you have very long eyebrows that are sticking out.

Always remember work with your natural eyebrow shape 😉

What I used:
Universal Tinted Moisturizer: This is a lightweight tinted moisturizer with SPF 46 that gives sheer coverage and a natural glow. It nourishes and hydrates with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and a high concentration of niacinamide (vitamin B3). It blends out perfectly for all skin tones.

Luminous Eye Corrector: This product comes in 4 peachy shades to cancel out under eye circles and darkness. It stays all day, doesn’t crease and gives perfect coverage without looking cakey. It has mineral SPF 41 to protect that delicate skin under the eyes.

Lip Silk: Deeply hydrating lip color that’s formulated with Squalane, Meadowfoam, & Peptides to nourish and soften lips without bleeding into lip lines. Available in 2 shades Soft and Bold. It has mineral based SPF 40 to protect lips from the sun and also from blue light.

These are fantastic skincare products that make you feel good in your own skin & they’re linked in my profile!💫

Sunday funny… Yes, this is how I think!🙃 The Sunday funny… Yes, this is how I think!🙃

The Costco parking lot is always so crowded and full, but a rainy day keeps lots of shoppers away so I could score a great parking spot right now.

I recently went to the Southlake, TX location of S I recently went to the Southlake, TX location of Skin Pharm for a little Dysport refresh with the incredible Rebekah.💖

I really appreciate her knowledge and skill, but what impresses me the most is the way she listens to my concerns about my aging skin and she does everything she can to help make me feel more confident.

She educated me on the latest products and treatments available and we decided together that Skinvive is something that I might want to try in the future. Have you heard of it? It purely for hydration and not for volume.

You can see my highlights with my previous treatments at Skin Pharm too.

Skin Pharm is a clinician-founded, female-led cosmetic dermatology practice with locations in several states including TX, GA, NC, SC and TN.

Oh, and their skincare products are amazing! You can purchase them right from their website too! I highly recommend their cleansers, the eye sculpt cream, the Youth Serum and the new Face Whip.💫

✨Right now they’re running a special where you get FREE cleanser AND Crystal Clear with any treatment through 5/30/25.✨

Book your appointment at @skinpharm asap so they can take care of you too!
