Several months ago I had the opportunity to experience an Oxygenceuticals Astrodome Facial. It was in the middle of the pandemic and some pampering was definitely something that I needed (I’m ready for more). I was booked at the Lavish Skin Studio in Kennedale, Texas. It’s in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and TLC and I thought this was a great option. Megan, the owner of Lavish does a great job at describing the Astrodome facial…
“The Astrodome from Oxygenceuticals is the only facial oxygen device of it’s kind in the world. It incorporates LED light therapy, near infrared, as well as an oxygen mist simultaneously. The infusion of oxygen, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, and dead sea minerals is glorious for the skin as it encourages the growth of new cells as well as stimulation of collagen. Oxygen is restored to the skin cells during this treatment. This treatment rejuvenates the skin leaving it fresh and supple. This is a great treatment for all skin types and skin tones. It is an especially good treatment for those with reactive skin, acne and sensitive skin.”
I’d been using OxygenCeuticals skincare products for a few weeks prior to my appointment. You can read my review of those products in this previous post. I arrived at my facial appoint excited and ready to get glowing skin. I was a little bit apprehensive about the dome part because I’m extremely claustrophobic. I immediately mentioned this to Megan and she put my mind at ease.
Some of the benefits of an Astrodome Facial:
- To purify & stimulate metabolism
- Skin regeneration & strengthens the immune system
- Activates skin cells
- Relieves fatigue & is relaxing
- Controls sebum production
- Skin brightening effects to improve elasticity through collagen & elastin production
- Detox and restore the health of skin and scalp
- Anti-bacterial effects while balancing skin PH
- Wound healing and soothing for post procedure skin and can relieve pain after surgery or intensive treatments
The Astrodome facial consists of 8 different steps and is so unique and different than any other facial I’ve ever had. Below you can see some of the photos that were taken during my luxurious facial session. Please note that the steps may be the same for everyone’s facial, however the products used are individualized based on your skin type and concerns.
Step 1 is the Oxygen Pore Mask application. The pore mask is the first step to deeply cleanse the pores with an oxygen based cleanser with rich bubbles of foam that go deep into the pores to lift away impurities.
Step 2 – Oxygen Scaling is a deep cleansing of the pores by using anion + an oxygen scaling technique. This stimulates skin renewal, blood purification and strengthens the skin barrier.
Step 3 – Oxygen Infusion – This step infuses essential nutrients and oxygen into the skin to feed and revitalize skin cells.
Step 4 – Oxygen Mask – The skin is layered with a 10% Hyaluronic Acid Gel Mask (HA Gel + Toning Gel) to instantly plump and hydrate the skin.
Step 5 – Astrodome Facial Toning – This step took about 15 minutes. There are different options for the light. Blue light stimulates the epidermis to improve skin complexion. Red light penetrates from fibroblasts to reticular dermis to trigger collagen and elastin production. Violet light is the combination of Blue & Red light to help in wound recovery and has anti-inflammation effects. As you can see, I had the red light for my session.
Step 6 – Oxygen Mask 2 – This is a Multi-Masking layer the skin with either a sheet mask (Cryogel Velvet Mask) or a Clarifying Mask + Toning Gel. I had the Cryogel Velvet Mask. An additional application of the Alginate Peel off Mask after this step is optional.
Step 7 – Scalp Scaling – I didn’t get any photos of this treatment. It was really nice to have the scalp massage that helps to refresh the skin on the head that is buried beneath my thick hair.
Step 8 – Finishing – This is what Megan called the After Glow step to finish off the facial.
Who, When or Why have OxygenCeuticals Astrodome Facials?
- After intensive or invasive skin procedures for skin soothing and recovery.
- Sensitive skin that experiences rosacea, acne and dullness.
- Those suffering from acne, clogged skin and uses make up every day.
- Men and women in need of skin brightening and anti-aging treatments.
- You can have this facial 1-2 times per month
- Regular treatments are highly recommended to improve skin health and immune system while effectively keeping acne under control, speed up recovery process and improve total skin rejuvenation.
My photo above is about an hour after my OxygenCeuticals Astrodome Facial. I think my skin looks plumped, hydrated and very refreshed. As you can tell, I LOVED this facial and recommend that you give Megan from Lavish Beauty and Skin Bar a call if you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It’s definitely worth it to take a drive to her skincare salon. You can also look on the Oxygenceuticals website to find a site near you that offers this luxury facial.

Hi Stacie,
I am an esthetician in NY looking to add an experience to my menu of services. I have been looking at different oxygenating devices and I have found others that don’t incorporate a dome so I would literally be spraying the clients face with a hand held device and then applying LED therapy again with another hand held device. Did you go back for subsequent treatments and if so have you seen cumulative benefits.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Lisa,
I thoroughly enjoyed this facial treatment. I think it’s a lovely facial and different than others that could make your establishment stand out. I haven’t been back to this spa for additional treatments as it’s almost an hour drive from my home. I do love the Oxygenceuticals line of skincare products, as well. Stacie xo
