Do you prefer to use organic beauty products? Since I know that there’s a lot of interest in more natural beauty products these days (myself included), I thought I’d share a few products that I received from The Organic Skin Co. All products from the line are certified organic, vegan and cruelty free which all seem to be trending topics in beauty more frequently these days.
One of the company’s founders says, “When I launched The Organic Skin Co., one of my naturopathic pillars was to offer the world beauty and skincare products which are truly vegan and cruelty-free. Products are BioGrow certified and free of parabens, nanos, bismuth oxychloride, gluten, talc — common ingredients in many beauty products.
The two products that I sampled were the Lip Service lipstick in the shade Star Dust and the Cheeky Lips Pod is the shade First Blush. I received these a few months ago, so I’ve had time to use both products and form my opinion about them.
Cheeky Lips Pod
This is a creme product that’s designed to be used on both the cheeks and lips. It can even be used on the eyes, if desired. The Cheeky Lips Pod is available in 7 different shades. I have the shade called First Blush. It looks like a deep shade in the pod, however I was very pleasantly surprised at the soft pink shade that it produced when I applied it to my lips. I also used it on the apples of my cheeks for a light blush that provides the perfect amount of moisture for my dry skin.
As you can tell, I really like this multi-tasking product (it’s a current favorite) and recommend it. I was able to get a few hours of wear time out of the Cheeky Lips which made me happy. It’s easy to apply with a brush, however I prefer to pat the product in with just my finger to both lips and cheeks. It can be worn sheer or more opaque by adding additional layers.
Lip Service Lipstick
Lip Service lipstick is formulated with “the added benefits of calendula and rosemary supercritical extracts, as well as nourishing organic oils and carnauba wax.” The ingredients are beneficial to the lips while providing beautiful color options to match your mood or your outfit. There are 12 different colors available for this product.
I sampled the Lip Service Lipstick in the Star Dust shade. The shade is a pretty nude with a little bit of sparkle in it. The formula feels moisturizing to my lips, which I love. I also like knowing that the lipstick is formulated with ingredients to take care of my lips. The only con from me about the lipstick is that it doesn’t last as long as I’d like. Knowing that the lipstick is formulated with good ingredients and nothing bad that can be ingested makes this one a winner. I also think it’s good for people with allergies or sensitivities to ingredients.
