Midlife beauty, health tips, skincare reviews and advice for women over 40

Life

Optimistic Monday

September 17, 2012

Wow!  That was a crazy week!  I had too many events scheduled that had me feeling a little bit of anxiety.  I just dealt with each day, one by one, and got through it just fine.  This week will leave me with a bit more free time, I hope…

Goals from Last week:

1.  Keep up with my blog by posting at least 3 times.
Yes!
2.  Post at least 2 Youtube videos.
Yes!
3.  Figure out how to reply to comments on my blog.
Sort of…  The only way I can seem to reply directly to comments on my blog is through the Blogger app on my iPad.  This is really frustrating!  If anyone knows of a better way please share it with me ASAP!
4.  Spend more time replying to comments on my Youtube videos.
Yes, I was able to sit in Starbucks with my laptop one morning and replied to many comments.  I need to grab my laptop more often before heading out the door.
5.  Get in at least 2 walks this week.
NO!  I was only able to get in one walk this week.  I was planning to walk more but the rain & appointments kept me from the outdoors.  At least I had one great walk!
9/10/12 5.17 miles
6.  Mail out at least 5 cards/gift cards to my chemo angel patients.
No!  I only mailed 4 this week.  I promise to mail more this week.

Here are a few pictures from my busy week:

My daughter’s homecoming mum.  It’s a Texas thang!

Mack trying on her mum.  Yes, It is worn around her neck since it is so big & heavy.
Bloggy Boot Camp Dallas – Speaker Tiffany Romero (LOVED HER!)

Goals for this week:
1.  Back to walking this week.
I would like to get in at least 4 walks.
2.  Work on my blog after learning so many helpful tips at Bloggy Boot Camp on Saturday.
3.  2-3 YouTube videos.
4.  Cook a new crock pot meal.  Or should I say cook any meal.  LOL!
5.  Get a few thank you cards written and mailed.
There’s nothing like an old fashioned handwritten note.
6.  Schedule a flight to visit my parents in Florida.
Most of you know that my parents are in poor health.  I need to go visit and spend some time with them.  I am so busy with my kids that I feel bad for not getting there more often.  I don’t want to live with regrets later, so this is a priority this week.
7.  Network with my new blog friends.
Anybody else setting goals this week?
If I did this post as a weekly link-up, would any other bloggers be interested in participating?

Have a GREAT week!

Hi! I think I can help with being able to reply to your comments. I was having the same problem. On your comments under Comment Location choose Embedded. I changed mine to this option and I was able to reply to my comments. Hope it helps.

I’m sharing some of my best sellers from the pas I’m sharing some of my best sellers from the past few weeks because they’re also some of my favorites. As you can see, I’m a pretty casual outfit kind of gal most of the time.

I do love getting dressed up too, but casual is my go-to every day style.💗

Are any of these outfits calling your name?

Just say shop and I’ll magically send you the info.

I’m sharing my Glow-Up Routine for Women Over 50 I’m sharing my Glow-Up Routine for Women Over 50 for a beautiful natural makeup look that enhances the beauty of mature skin and protects it from the sun. It’s makeup and skincare in one! I love a multitasker, don’t you?

What I used:
Universal Tinted Moisturizer: This is a lightweight tinted moisturizer with SPF 46 that gives sheer coverage and a natural glow. It nourishes and hydrates with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and a high concentration of niacinamide (vitamin B3). It blends out perfectly for all skin tones.

Luminous Eye Corrector: This product comes in 4 peachy shades to cancel out under eye circles and darkness. It stays all day, doesn’t crease and gives perfect coverage without looking cakey. It has mineral SPF 41 to protect that delicate skin under the eyes.

Lip Silk: Deeply hydrating lip color that’s formulated with Squalane, Meadowfoam, & Peptides to nourish and soften lips without bleeding into lip lines. Available in 2 shades Soft and Bold. It has mineral based SPF 40 to protect lips from the sun and also from blue light.

These are fantastic skincare products that make you feel good in your own skin & they’re linked in my profile!💫

Sunday funny… Yes, this is how I think!🙃 The Sunday funny… Yes, this is how I think!🙃

The Costco parking lot is always so crowded and full, but a rainy day keeps lots of shoppers away so I could score a great parking spot right now.

I recently went to the Southlake, TX location of S I recently went to the Southlake, TX location of Skin Pharm for a little Dysport refresh with the incredible Rebekah.💖

I really appreciate her knowledge and skill, but what impresses me the most is the way she listens to my concerns about my aging skin and she does everything she can to help make me feel more confident.

She educated me on the latest products and treatments available and we decided together that Skinvive is something that I might want to try in the future. Have you heard of it? It purely for hydration and not for volume.

You can see my highlights with my previous treatments at Skin Pharm too.

Skin Pharm is a clinician-founded, female-led cosmetic dermatology practice with locations in several states including TX, GA, NC, SC and TN.

Oh, and their skincare products are amazing! You can purchase them right from their website too! I highly recommend their cleansers, the eye sculpt cream, the Youth Serum and the new Face Whip.💫

✨Right now they’re running a special where you get FREE cleanser AND Crystal Clear with any treatment through 5/30/25.✨

Book your appointment at @skinpharm asap so they can take care of you too!
