Optimistic Monday

October 29, 2012

It’s time for my Optimistic Monday post.  I am trying to get back to setting my goals each and letting y’all know how I do at accomplishing them.  I’d love to do this post as a weekly link up some time in the future.  Let me know if you’d be interested in participating.  You don’t have to set many goals each week.  Start small.  I think it helps to keep me accountable by writing my goals down.

Goals for last week:
1.  Walk 3 times.
Yes, I made it a point to get out there and get my head cleared a little bit on my walks.  I am a “thinker” and this time is great for “thinking.”  I had 3 shorter walks this week.  I am glad to have gotten back in the swing of things.
10/22/12 3.19 miles, 10/23/12 3.10 miles, 10/25/12 2.51 miles
It’s so peaceful walking the trails by the lake
2.  Write some thank you cards.
I actually wrote a few, but need to get my act together as far as thank you cards go.

3.  Clean out my closet (or at least part of it)
I started this ginormous task.  I went through most of my pants.  This is what led me to try them all on and realize that they are mostly all too big since I have lost some weight.  This led me to go shopping for new pants.  Such a vicious cycle.  LOL!

4.  Cook dinner on 2 nights.  Preferably something new and at least a little bit exciting.
I did cook several nights this week.  Nothing really new though.  It’s so hard to cook at our house since my husband travels and my son is on a crazy teenage boy athlete low carb diet.  I did make some desserts this week.  I posted a few that I wanted to try from Pinterest.  I was able to make the Peanut Butter Chip Banana Bread.  It was pretty wonderful!  I think next time I will just make it as mini muffins instead.  It was very rich for me so I would only need a little bit at a time.  The picture below is my actual finished product.

5.  Film at least 2 YouTube videos and write at least 4 blog posts.
I filmed 2 videos, but only uploaded one.  I will be uploading a few this week.  However, I have been pretty good at posting at least 4 blog posts per week.
Goals for this week:
1.  Walk 3-4 times at least 3 miles each
2.  Film at least 3 Youtube videos, including a few reviews
3.  4-5 Blog posts, including a few beauty product reviews
4.  Make 2 of the amazing oatmeal recipes I saved from Pinterest last week
(I’m kind of craving the cookies and oatmeal breakfast muffins)
5.  Continue the daunting task of cleaning out my closet…

Have a great week!!

Friendships are an important part of our lives, so Friendships are an important part of our lives, so what better way to celebrate than with a Girlfriend’s Friendsgiving on our girl’s trip to Nashville.💖

We enjoyed spending time together and while there we gifted each other with some of our personal favorite things and Julie Vos jewelry is one of mine.💖

I think everyone would agree that @julievos jewelry is the perfect gift for every woman and we thank her for helping to make our celebration sparkle.💖

I’m now calling these our “friendship bracelets”.💖

Annie wasn’t able to open her gift with us that day as she had to depart early for the birth of her first grandchild, but you can see that she loves her new jewels too!

Thanks to @blessingandsass @mcfatherdesigns @romyraves @arebelinprada for your friendship and support!

Be sure to visit the Julie Vos website for your holiday gifting needs and make a wishlist for yourself too!

I was so excited when the Italian shoe brand Balle I was so excited when the Italian shoe brand BallereTTe reached out to me a few weeks ago because I knew I’d be in Italy in November and they have a retail store in Venice that I could personally visit.

The brand was born in Rome and is inspired by the style and comfort needs of women. You can see some of their ballet flats, Mary Janes, loafers and more in this video.

I tried on several pairs until I found the one that I knew will fit perfectly into my lifestyle. I also made note of a few styles that I will order in the future since they ship worldwide (quickly and for a small shipping fee).🎉

Fun fact - Each flat shoe is named after a district of the eternal city or a historically and culturally significant area. Because the story of @balleretteofficial is deeply rooted in the territory: handcrafted in Italy with leathers carefully selected in Italian factories.

Thank you BallereTTe for your hospitality, the excellent customer service and my new shoes! I love them!!💖
