I am thinking that I completely skipped over this post last week. With Christmas and all, I just let it slide by. You can read all about my Crazy Christmas here. We finally arrived in south Florida on Friday morning at 10:00 am. However, our luggage did not arrive to our hotel until 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. You know what? There are more important things in life and we just laughed about it as a family.
While in Florida, I knew I had to get most of my mom’s things cleaned out. I thought it would be really hard and very emotional. It was hard, but I did great emotionally. My mom was a hoarder in many different areas. Her strongest addiction was to yarn. She loved to knit! However, she never ever could have used up all of the yarn that she purchased even if she had lived to be 100 years old. I snatched a few skeins to have a few scarves made for myself some day. She made me lots of things throughout my life that I will cherish forever. We all took one of her sweaters that she made for herself too. It’s a comfort to wear the things that she once wore.
Her next addiction was to jewelry. My mom had enough jewelry to stock a retail store! I took a bunch of my favorites that I know she loved too. One of her favorite designers was Judith Ripka. My dad thinks that Judith and mom had to be on a first name basis. LOL!
Have a GREAT week!
