I can’t believe it’s been almost an entire month since the last post about my garden.  I’ve been working hard on getting my garden under control and thought I’d do my garden update #2 for you today.  A lot has changed in the garden.  I was blessed to have a neighbor come over who has some gardening experience.  She shared her knowledge with me to help me out with my frustrations over the funk my garden was in.  I followed her directions, some suggestions from my subscribers and a few that I found on the internet.  I must say that after a few hours in the garden along with some TLC, my garden is looking pretty nifty at the moment.
I’ve removed the cabbage plants completely. Â They had nasty cabbage worms that were having a feast on the leaves. Â It wasn’t worth the fight since I’m really the only person in my house who likes cabbage in the first place. Â I trimmed off a lot of the leaves from my tomato plants that were dead or diseased looking. Â I removed one of my cucumber plants too since they were taking over. Â I put in an a-frame trellis so that the cucumber vine can now crawl up and pollinate properly. Â I put garden fabric under my strawberry plants so that my fruit no longer lays in the dirt. Â I added two different jalapeno plants. Â Lastly, I added a few marigolds to hopefully ward off any bunnies that might want to stop by for a feast.
My garden
My first green bell pepper. It fell off today and was slightly rotted on the bottom. Hopefully a new one will grow soon.
My strawberries are looking pretty good now.
You can see the garden fabric under the strawberries, the eggshells added for the tomatoes and marigolds to ward off the enemies.
Two varieties of jalapeño plants.  The plant on the left has a pesticide sprayed on the leaves.
I hoe you enjoyed my garden update. Â Do you have any gardening tips to share?
I’ve been wanting to grow a garden but too intimidated!
Oh, no! Just try a container of tomatoes or something that you like and see how it goes. You never know until you try. Stacie xo
The tomato plants struggled a bit with all the rain, but ours have taken off and we’re getting produce daily!
Oh me too! I love going out and picking my harvest nearly every day. I actually can’t eat them all. LOL! Thanks for stopping by Patti! Stacie xo
It’s looking great! How rewarding for you to eat fresh fruits and veggies from your garden 🙂
I smile every time I go out and get tomatoes. Now the other plants need to start producing… Stacie xo
