Crazy Christmas…

December 26, 2012

Christmas started out as normal at our house.  We went to the candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve.  Then we went to a friend’s house for dinner and card games.  We usually eat at a nice restaurant first but decided to stay in this year in order to enjoy each other’s company more.  Then came the card games.  I’m really not into card games, while others on the group are quite obsessed with them.  So of course I won 2 times out of the 5 games.  How does that happen?  I got the two gift cards that I contributed as my prizes.  Go figure…

Christmas morning happens later and later in the morning when you have teenagers.  I admit that I am happy about that.  It’s actually quite nice.  We opened all of our our gifts, which actually included a few surprises for the kids.  That was fun!  We had our normal Christmas lunch.  I cried a few tears over missing my mom.  Then we watched the snow fall…  And we all wondered what would happen to our flight scheduled for 6:25 pm…
We got all packed up for our trip to Florida.  We planned to be in north Florida for 3 nights to see my husband’s dad and then south Florida to see my dad and family.  We were at the airport an hour before the scheduled flight.  After about 45 minutes our gate was changed from C20 to A18.  If you’ve ever been in the Dallas airport then you know this is not an easy feat.  And to top it off the Skylink was closed due to the bad weather.  Dallas does not know how to handle bad weather of any kind.  After arriving at the new overcrowded gate my phone kept updating us telling us that the flight was delayed to a later and later time.  Finally at 8:00 pm we were able to board.  Luckily we were in first class for the flight and all of the crying babies and toddlers were in the rear.  I really felt bad for those poor parents and kids as the time dragged on for 2 1/2 hours while we waited for our pilot.  At that point they announced that our flight was now cancelled due to the pilot (who had not shown up yet) being on the clock for too many hours that day to fly our flight too.  No pilot = no flight.  Everyone piled off and had to stand in line to get rescheduled.  We gave our big bag of travel snacks to a family traveling with seven small children.  No luggage in sight…  We currently have no idea where our luggage is.  Nor does American Airlines.  It might be in Dallas.  It might be in north Florida…  We just might get to know where it is sometime this evening.  We are now scheduled to go to Florida on Friday morning cutting our vacation in half.  We are just skipping the north Florida part and praying that our luggage finds us in south Florida.

But you know what?  We are all safe, happy and healthy and that’s all that matters!

I thought I’d share a few of our Christmas photos with you:

At 61 years old, I’ve never been able to consisten At 61 years old, I’ve never been able to consistently use a retinol product until now because I couldn’t handle the dry, irritated skin that I experienced when using them. #OlayPartner

@olay has this new Retinol 24 Starter that’s intentionally made for beginners and/or people with sensitive skin like me. I’m now able to get the “gold standard” benefits recommended by dermatologists with this gentler formula to help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, fade dark spots and improve texture.

It’s formulated with Pro-Retinol, Triple Collagen Peptide and Aloe Vera to reveal the smoother, brighter skin that’s been unreachable until now.

And if you’re a long-time user of retinol products, they have several stronger formulas that you can check out too.

New users and those of us with sensitive skin can conveniently purchase this gentler formula at our favorite retailers or online. Give it a try. I think you’ll be as impressed as I am.

GRWM with clean beauty products — because looking GRWM with clean beauty products — because looking your best at any age isn’t about looking younger. It’s about looking like the best version of you.

At 61, I’m all about makeup that enhances my features, works well with mature skin, and still lets me look like me. I don’t want to hide behind my makeup, and I don’t think any of us need to. With the right products and techniques, makeup can simply bring out what’s already there.

I used all clean beauty makeup products to create a fresh, natural, polished look that feels good without feeling overdone.

If you’re a woman over 50—or 40, 60, or 70—and you’re looking for clean beauty, natural makeup for mature skin, makeup tips for mature skin, anti-aging makeup techniques, or natural-looking makeup that enhances instead of covers, this one is for you. ✨

Beauty doesn’t have an expiration date. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident.💕

Save this GRWM for your next makeup day and tell me: do you prefer a natural makeup look or something a little more glam?

As a matter of fact, I already repurchased the vitamins and prebiotics and probiotics supplement. I didn’t know Kourtney Kardashian was the owner of that brand. I only had 1 fail this time which was the terrible tasting creatine gummies. I don’t like stevia, but if you do then you may like with them.
