I saw this tag going around on both YouTube and in some bloggers circles a while back. It’s the Confessions of a Beauty Blogger tag. I thought I’d do mine here on my blog today so you might get to know me and my blog a little better. There were a few different variations with basically the same questions, but I chose this one. Feel free to do this tag too if you’re a blogger of any kind.
When did you start your blog? I think I started my first blog back in 2010.
Have you had any past online presence before (other blog, YouTube)? My online presence started with YouTube. Instagram and Pinterest didn’t exist back then.
Why did you start a blog? I started my original blog to go hand in hand with my YouTube channel. It was a place for me to share swatches of products shown in my videos as well as a place to do little blog sales.
When did you become serious about starting a blog? I started my blog before I actually became serious about it. I think the seriousness came in 2012 when I attended my first blog conference. I learned so much from The SITS Girls at one of their Bloggy Boot Camps. If you want to start a blog I recommend you start with their website which is a wealth of information.
How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts? Oh my, I don’t even know… I spend at least 10-20 hours a week on my blog. The amount of time has actually been increasing lately as I try to figure out all of the things I need to do to make my blog more successful.
What was your first post? “Welcome to 2012 & My New Blog” was my first post here on Makeup Obsessed Mom. I deleted my old blog so I couldn’t tell you what my very first ever blog post was.
What has been your biggest challenge about blogging? The biggest challenge for me is getting my blog posts seen by readers. I think that’s probably the biggest challenge for all bloggers. I write my blog posts because I really do enjoy writing, but also with the hope that the whole world will read them.
Where do you see your blog in one year? I hope to continue to grow my audience and grow my skills and knowledge of blogging at the same time.
What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging? I love connecting with women and offering advice that matters to them. I’ve met some incredible women who read my blog as well as connected with many other bloggers.
What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you? There isn’t much that discourages me. Blogging has been a positive experience.
What’s your lasting inspiration or motivation? I’d say my motivation and inspiration come from my every day life. I’m inspired by the things I see in magazines, on tv, the internet and social media, in stores that I shop in, etc. I’m inspired by my fellow bloggers and the wonderful groups that I work with.
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you do this tag on your blog.

I had to smile when you wrote “at least 10-20 hours”. By the time you count up all the blog prep work and the time spent promoting posts, it really adds up! But I agree, it’s something I love and I can’t imagine not doing it.

I know, and then if we added in all of the time we spend working on things in our heads while not actually sitting at the computer…. Thanks for stopping by! Stacie xo
