Don’t you hate when you look in the mirror one day and see things you didn’t realize were there? I recently starting noticing the pores on my face. How on earth did they suddenly become so large? I thought to myself, “Does everyone who sees me also see my gigantic pores?!” This was sort of like an “ah ha” moment for me.
Fortunately I had some of the StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner on my shelf of PR sample products. I immediately started using the StriVectin pore product and crossed my fingers that my pores would miraculously begin to shrink. I began using it once a day, in the evenings. My skin seems to have a mind of its own. One day it’s dry, the next day it’s oily or sensitive. I never know how it will react to products.
The StriVectin Pore Refiner uses potent ingredients designed to encourage the skin’s natural cell turnover to help shed dead skin cells and expose fresh layers of healthy new skin. Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner “diminishes the appearance of pores, and enhances skin’s firmness and elasticity, while reducing sebum production to visibly tighten pores, regulate the look and shine on skin, and produce a uniform and radiant complexion.”
The product is a lightweight lotion that is virtually fragrance free. It contains 1% retinol and a patented NIA-114 technology. This combination is formulated to “nourish the moisture barrier to provide visible age fighting efficacy as it limits the sensitivity common to Retinol use. The blend purifies and refines both skin tone and texture, while delivering superior age fighting benefits.”
Verdict: With the first use of this product my skin began to peel. The peeling revealed new fresh skin, which is a good thing. However, it can be a bit annoying to have peeling skin when trying to apply my foundation. I am only able to use this product 2-3 times per week. I’m sure if I used it more frequently that I’d have even better results. The StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner has definitely made my skin look better, including the appearance of my pores. Some of the brown age spots on my face have peeled off as well. That’s a bonus for a product that is readily available without a prescription. I will continue to use this product and recommend it.

I feel your struggle, one day my skin is dry and flaky, and the next it’s oily, and the next its red and sensitive! Make up your mind!! My pores aren’t too bad, but they could always be smaller, so I should probably give this a try!

Your skin sounds really similar to mine (one day oily, next day dry, another day super sensitive) so I think I might get similar results. I’ll definitely add this to my “check out soon” list.

Wow, it sounds like this product was really effective for you! I didn’t get any visible peeling on my face, but I liked the fact that I was giving my skin more vitamins.

This stuff has been great for the pores on my nose and cheeks! If I use too much my skin gets dry though.
