Hello my friends! My plan for this blog series was a bit of a fail the last few weeks. I’ve just been so busy working on other things, that Sunday rolls around and I realize my Sunday with Stacie post isn’t ready. That’s life though, right? Sometimes we just have to go with the flow and not beat ourselves up when things don’t go as planned. Some things I’ve been working on are home projects, an online course and prepping for vacation. Of course I’ve also been working on all things MakeupObsessedMom too.
My husband and I decided to redecorate our master bedroom after having it the same for a few years now. We’re changing up the color theme slightly. Navy blue was our accent color for years. We started by eliminating all traces of it. We’re going to use a forest green shade for some accents now instead. We’re also bringing in black. Our color palette will be greige, black, off white, natural wood and the green. Something similar to this palette below. I have the dark brown because we have a dark expresso stained oak wood floor in the bedroom and I’m not changing that (it runs throughout the entire downstairs).
We started with a new bed. We found something that we liked online so we ordered it. It was a bit of a surprise when it arrived because it was a pea soup green instead of the antique white it was supposed to be. This is the beautiful bed I was expecting. So, rather than return it, my husband decided to paint it. It turned out fine, it just wasn’t the color I originally wanted. Again, sometimes you just go with the flow. I have to pick my battles for what matters more and I’m just thankful that my husband is such a good handyman. He hangs lighting, ceiling fans, paints, electrical work, plumbing, yard work, and he can fix a car and most computer issues too. Pretty impressive, right?!
The room is still a work in progress. We need new nightstands, a couch, ottoman, lamps and more. I will update when we get everything together. It may be another month or two until completion. I enjoy renovations and remodels. Speaking of which, I’m still trying to convince my husband to get our master closet remodeled…
In other news, we’re headed to my husband’s family reunion in Michigan. I’m told that this is year number 44 (I think) for his family gathering. Isn’t that incredible?! It’s so fun to bring the grand babies so they get to know all of the cousins and previous generations. It’s all about making memories these days.
That’s about it for this week’s post. I’m going to try to get back to being more consistent with this series because I love and enjoy sharing random life things with you and hope you enjoy this more personal side of my story.
