Happy Easter Sunday to those of you who are celebrating. We’re having our kids and grandkids over today for a breakfasty brunch, an egg hunt and maybe some swimming if the weather cooperates. Breakfast foods are my favorite, so I was happy when my kids wanted to celebrate early in the day. Then again, I do love all the side dishes for lunch or dinner, so that would’ve been fine too. Anyway, our meal will include a french toast casserole, an egg casserole, breakfast potatoes, a yogurt parfait bar, berries, muffins, mini avocado toast and ham for the protein lovers. I’m famous for having too much food. Anybody else?
Other random stuff for the week…
Struggle this week
I’m almost 60 years old and I think I have some form of undiagnosed ADHD. Seriously. I have so many things going on and so many tasks on my to-do lists that many never get done. I’m a hard worker, but I get distracted easily. It takes me until the 11th hour to complete a project. It’s almost like I need to put blinders on to keep myself focused on the task or goal at hand. I feel like I really struggle at times and have to give myself a lot of self talks to try to focus.
Happiness this week
My garden and back patio are looking SO good! I planted my Dahlia bulbs a few weeks ago and then I also added some additional Dahlia plants from the nursery so I would have some color while waiting for blooms because this will take quite a while. The bulbs have sprouted, so we’re on our way. We have to garden early in Texas because once the heat of summer gets here everything burns up. I also decided to sow some seeds in indoor trays this year. Fingers crossed that they start to germinate this week. I planted zinnias and cosmos because I’m wanting more of a cut flower garden this year. I’ll keep you updated.
If you’re interested in gardening or learning any craft really, I will tell you that I found a great resource for online classes and instructional videos. It’s the website called Craftsy. They have a special right now where you can get a premium membership for 69 CENTS for a year!! I joined and I’m having so much fun with it.
Upcoming Influencer Conference
Are you an influencer over 50? My friend Robin is hosting a her Influencers of Midlife conference in Savannah, Georgia from September 15-18, 2024. I went last year (in Las Vegas) and it was a great experience. I was able to meet new friends and spent time with women who I interact with almost daily on social media. The conference is probably geared more toward women who have been working in the influencer space already and are looking to learn more. However, I feel like ladies at all levels in their careers can get a lot out of the conference. I know there are already a bunch of great sponsors for the conference. Be sure to check it out or share with a friend who might be interested.
