Have you been thinking about taking collagen as part of your beauty regimen? If not, you may want to because there are definite benefits. I’ve wanted to add it to my own routine for quite a while, but I could never find the right product for me. I’m a pescatarian and most collagen supplements and products that I encountered use bovine collagen which doesn’t fit into my dietary preferences. When I did find a marine collagen product, I would gag at the taste. That’s why I was thrilled to be introduced to Collagen for Her products. They offer products that easily fit into my lifestyle. I’ve been taking them for over a month now and am excited to share more information about the brand, their products and the benefits with you.
Collagen Supplements: Do You Need Them…
About the Collagen for Her brand
First and foremost, Collagen for Her is a woman founded small business. We should all be supporting these female entrepreneurs.
The ladies developed the brand and products based on a need that they were having themselves. They wanted to share and spread the word about supplements and how they can help us women. They use clear explanations and provide full transparency.
One of the co-founders says, “I knew I wanted to start a company for women that had a foundation of transparency, quality, and recognizable ingredients. Collagen played such a big role in my health and I knew I wanted it to be the focus of this new women’s company and from there, Collagen For Her was born.”
What is collagen?
According to the Collagen for Her website, “Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, comprising about 30% of all the protein in our bodies; with 70% of the protein found in our skin, 90% in our connective tissue, and 90% in our bone mass. This is why collagen is often referred to as “the glue that holds the body together” because without collagen our bodies wouldn’t be able to perform a lot of its essential functions.”
As we age, our collagen production is reduced. Therefore, we begin to experience visible signs of aging, like wrinkles and sagging skin. Some of us have joint pain and even issues with digestion.
In a nutshell, collagen is a protein that is found in animals. This protein contains amino acids, including essential amino acids that are only available through supplements or dietary resources. By replenishing our collagen through high quality supplementation products, we can actually visibly see changes and feel improvements in our health.
Since we’re no longer producing collagen at the same rate as we used to, we can choose to get collagen from external sources, such as supplements. Most commonly seen are collagen supplements that utilize bovine collagen. This works great for many people. However, with my personal dietary restrictions, I prefer to consume supplements that utilize marine collagen. Please note that Collagen for Her also offers other supplements in their amazing lineup.
How does collagen work?
Studies have been done that indicate that taking collagen supplements can help to improve the appearance of wrinkles, skin elasticity and hydration. It’s also been shown to help with joint pain for many, as well (that would be me).
The collagen supplement ingredients are broken down into amino acids during digestion and are then absorbed and used to build collagen or other proteins that your body needs.
How to use Collagen for Her products
Collagen for Her has many different product offerings. I personally use two of them, the Beauty Blend, which is a powder supplement that I add to either my coffee, oatmeal or a smoothie in the mornings. It’s completely tasteless and dissolves instantly. You won’t even know it’s in your food or drink. It’s also easily digested and absorbed by the body.
This Beauty Blend collagen product contains additional ingredients that are beneficial to the common signs of aging that bother most of us. The added ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Biotin. I imagine that you’ve heard of or seen those ingredients mentioned often for improving skin, hair and nails. It’s paleo and keto friendly; using non-GMO ingredients and also sugar free, dairy free, gluten free, and soy free.
The other product that I use is their new Marine Collagen Beauty Gummies. These are like a “treat with benefits.” I just chew two of the gummies every day along with my other supplements. They taste so good that it’s actually tempting to eat more than one serving.
These delicious little gummies are formulated with marine collagen and other added ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Biotin, Zinc. These ingredients provide benefits to our hair, skin, and nails. They’re non-GMO and gluten free.

Final Verdict
I can’t say enough good things about this brand and their products. Because of them, I’m now a faithful collagen supplements user. I know that my skin, nails, joints and more are reaping the benefits. I love the orange taste of the Marine Collagen Gummies and the fact that there’s no taste at all to their Beauty Blend (because I’ve tried many nasty tasting marine collagen products in the past). If you’re like me and you’re looking to up your supplement regimen, then this brand is where I recommend you start. They have products that meet each of our individual requirements.
