Life

Optimistic Monday

January 14, 2013

Happy Monday Everyone!

I must start by warning you that I didn’t quite get to my goals this past week.  I got sidetracked by the rainy weather and family life, which made me alter my goals just a bit.  That’s okay.  I’ll focus better this week on my goals because I really like to check things off my lists.

My goals for last week:

1.  Bake the Cherry Almond Biscotti recipe that I found on Pinterest.
I didn’t bake at all this week.  That’s sort of good because I didn’t exercise enough to be eating cookies and biscotti.

2.  Walk 4 times this week.
I only “officially” walked twice this week.  We had 48 hours of straight rain here.  Once the rain was done I had 2 days of sitting at National Cheer competition.
1/7/13 4.17 miles, 1/9/13 3.02 miles
cheer competition
It’s finally over!  They did great!
3.  Make the returns to stores that need to be done.
I didn’t get back to Nordstrom this week.  It’s a little bit far and with the bad weather and all I never made it.  It will be added to next week’s tasks.
4.  Read.
I read just a bit this week (mostly magazines).  I’ve just been so busy in my mind these past few months that reading has been so difficult to sit and focus on.  I’m sure it will happen soon enough.
5.  Mail out a few packages.
Yes, I mailed out all sorts of packages this week.  I love that feeling!
6.  Work on my blog.
Yes, I worked on my blog a whole bunch this week.  Actually, I worked on BOTH of my blogs.  If you haven’t already visited what I call my project blog, then go take a look.  I have a NEW blog button in the sidebar of this blog.  Please feel free to “grab it” and share it with your friends.

The code for this button is in my sidebar on the lower right.

My goals for this week:

1.  Walk 3 times this week.

2.  Start working on my daughter’s senior scrapbook.
I’m supposed to present this to her in May at a school function.  It would be nice to get this started now so that I’m not doing the whole thing at once the week before it’s due.

3.  Bake something with the dried cherries and almonds that I purchased last week.

4.  Work on blog improvements.
I’m currently reading Blog, Inc since I saw so many people recommending it.

5.  Continue to purge from my closet.
I have clothes that I keep saying I’m going to wear it someday and that hasn’t come so I’m about to face it and just get rid of it.  I’m certain that there are people out there that could use some new things.

6.  Get those returns made to the stores.

What are you doing this week?

I’d love to have you!

This is so neat, Stacie! I need to start making weekly goals in order to hold myself accountable. I let too many things slip through the cracks that should have been done weeks ago b/c I don’t have some type of system in place! This would definitely be helpful. Thanks for the neat idea and the book recommendation (Blog, Inc.), I think I’ll check it out as well!

I’m co-hosting “Tell me about it Tuesday” and found you through your link!

Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already reaching for rich fall colors. 🍂

#ad One of my favorite ways to transition into fall is by layering lightweight pieces from @soft_surroundings that keep me comfortable on warm afternoons but are also perfect for when the temperatures start to cool down. It’s an easy way to ease into the next season.

These warm, earthy colors feel so timeless, and each piece can be mixed and matched with other wardrobe favorites.

Do you have a favorite fashion season?

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.

It’s a great way to try beautiful bags without committing to a single bag. I’m having so much fun with this membership!👜

Thank you @vivrelle for the gift of this membership!
I’ve always been obsessed with pizza. I’ve attempt I’ve always been obsessed with pizza. I’ve attempted to make it at home many times and had too many failures to count. But not any more thanks to @pocobero and their delivery of NY-style pizza dough balls shipped straight to my door.

I had my kids and grandchildren over for swimming and make-your-own-pizzas this weekend. It was a total success. The flavor of the pizza crust was absolutely delicious. It tasted as good as being in a NYC pizzeria.

I see many more pizzas in my future.😎

I put all the veggies on my pizza. What are your favorite toppings?🍕🫑🍄‍🟫🧅

Thank you Poco Bero for the amazing gift!♥️
