Do you take great photos? If so, I’m impressed, envious and hopefully right on your heels. I feel like some people are born with more creative brains than others. My parents were both very creative, but unfortunately I didn’t inherit that trait. I have purchased at least 6 cameras and about 7 lenses for those cameras over the past 10 years or so with the hopes that I’m going to take amazing photos. Time gets away and the camera ends up in the closet every time. Not any more…
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I finally signed up for private photography lessons last month. I’m finally learning this life long skill that I’ve always wanted to possess. My camera is no longer in auto mode!! When I takes my morning walks I look for every photo opportunity that I can find. I’ve definitely found many. I’ve learned to look at things (objects in nature and the scenery around me) in a different light and from new angles. My teacher tells me that it’s all about perspective.
I share the photos that I take on my phone and a few from my Canon camera in my Instagram stories daily. However, Instagram does them no justice so I thought I’d share a few of my favorites here on my blog so that you can get the big picture and see all of the beautiful details that I feel like I’ve been able to capture.
To say that I’m loving photography would be an understatement. It gets my heart beating faster and I just can’t seem to get enough. Part of the motivation behind my wanting to learn better photography skills is my trip to Europe next month. My second motivation is that my grand baby will be born in November and this instagranny needs to share her with the world. And lastly, I’d like to take better photos for the brands that I work with.
Do you have any skills that you’re working on or something that you’d like to learn? I feel like we’re never too old to learn new things. It’s good for our brains to keep them working for as long as we can. This past year I’ve also taken a few cooking classes, blog and social media classes, and flower arranging. I encourage you to go out there and learn something new too. You’ll never regret it!
Below is the camera equipment that I’m using now and love. The lens was recommended by my photography teacher and it’s fantastic as a single lens that can do almost anything. I will earn a small commission if you purchase by clicking my links. Thanks for your support!
