I can’t believe it’s been almost an entire month since the last post about my garden. I’ve been working hard on getting my garden under control and thought I’d do my garden update #2 for you today. A lot has changed in the garden. I was blessed to have a neighbor come over who has some gardening experience. She shared her knowledge with me to help me out with my frustrations over the funk my garden was in. I followed her directions, some suggestions from my subscribers and a few that I found on the internet. I must say that after a few hours in the garden along with some TLC, my garden is looking pretty nifty at the moment.
I’ve removed the cabbage plants completely. They had nasty cabbage worms that were having a feast on the leaves. It wasn’t worth the fight since I’m really the only person in my house who likes cabbage in the first place. I trimmed off a lot of the leaves from my tomato plants that were dead or diseased looking. I removed one of my cucumber plants too since they were taking over. I put in an a-frame trellis so that the cucumber vine can now crawl up and pollinate properly. I put garden fabric under my strawberry plants so that my fruit no longer lays in the dirt. I added two different jalapeno plants. Lastly, I added a few marigolds to hopefully ward off any bunnies that might want to stop by for a feast.
I hoe you enjoyed my garden update. Do you have any gardening tips to share?
